          Pinterest Ads API Connector

          Pinterest Ads is Pinterest’s Advertising Channel, through which Promoted Pins are created, edited, and managed.

          • Channel: Display, Search
          • Data Stream Type: Ads, Conversion Tags, Conversions with Keywords, Search Keyword
          • Data Lagging: 1 Day

          Prerequisites

          Provide a valid username and password to connect to Pinterest Ads.

          Details

          All delivery Measurements that are automatically mapped are a combination of Paid and Earned data. Paid and Earned Measurements, such as Paid Impressions or Earned Impressions are retrieved as separate Measurements but require manual mapping.

          General Setup

          After entering your credentials, select the relevant Advertiser you want to retrieve data for.

          Extended Properties

          • Get Keywords- Select this checkbox to retrieve keyword data in addition to the Delivery data retrieved by the API by default. The following fields are added to the Search Keywords Data Stream Type:
            • Search Keyword Match Type
            • Search Keyword
          • Get Conversions - Select this checkbox to retrieve Conversion and Revenue data in addition to the Delivery data retrieved by the API by default. The following fields are added to the Conversion Tag Data Stream Type:
            • Total Conversions
            • Revenue
            • Post Impression Revenue
            • Post Impression Conversions
            • Post Click Revenue
            • Post Click Conversions
            • Conversion Tag Name
            • Conversion Tag Category
          • To change the Attribution Window select a look-back combination from the dropdown. The attribution look-back window represents the number of days between an ad event and a conversion event. The default attribution window is: 30 days for Click, 30 days for Engagement and 1 day for View.
          • Note
            Note When selecting both Get Conversions and Get Keywords, Conversion Tag With Keywords data is retrieved in addition to the data pulled by default, and is mapped to the Conversion Tag With Keywords Data Stream Type.

          Known Issues

          Currently the Pinterest Ads API isn’t bringing in Shopping data.

          QA Your Data

          This section outlines the steps to take to make sure your Data is working in Marketing Cloud Intelligence.

          1. Create the desired report in the Pinterest Ads platform for the required date range.
          2. Next, process the relevant Data Stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence for the same date range.
          3. Create a Report/Table Widget/Pivot Table within Marketing Cloud Intelligence containing the exact same Dimensions and Measurements for the same report and date range.
          4. Compare the Measurement Totals and make sure they’re aligned.

          Compare the Conversions Data as follows:

          1. Within Pinterest Ads, click Ads and select Reporting.
          2. Click the Pencil icon and select the relevant fields to configure your report to match the Data Stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence.
          3. Compare the totals within the Pinterest Ads Manager, or export your report.
          4. Compare the Pinterest Ads conversions to Marketing Cloud Intelligence conversions.
          5. Contrary to how it’s displayed in the user interface, the Conversion Metrics in Marketing Cloud Intelligence are transposed. For example, in the user interface- there’s a Measurement for each conversion type, Search, Signup, Watch-Video, etc. In Marketing Cloud Intelligence, to align with the Data Model and other platforms, the type of the conversion is returned as a value of a Conversion Tag Category Dimension, while the Measurement values of all conversions are available in the Total Conversions Measurement
          6. The Total Conversions Measurement reflects the default attribution window as defined in the Pinterest Ads account. If you aren’t comparing Totals, ensure that you compare the Conversion Measurements in Pinterest with the corresponding attribution window set in Marketing Cloud Intelligence.
