Create an X Social Engagement Data Stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence

Create an X Social Engagement Data Stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence

Create an X Social Engagement data stream to pull organic data from your X accounts.

          Required Editions

          User Permissions Needed
To create an API data stream: Admin

To create an X Social Engagement connector, you need:

          • A valid X ads account.
          • A valid X username and password for the account you want to pull data for.
          • The authenticated user must be the owner of the tweets. This API allows you to pull historical data for private metrics only for tweets that the authenticated user owns.
          1. On the Connect and Mix tab, expand Data Streams.
          2. Click Add New.
          3. Select the X Social Engagement connector.
          4. In the General section, select the account that you want to pull data for. To add a new data source authentication, click Add New and enter your X Social Engagement credentials.
          5. Set the time period for the initial data fetch. You can process data up to the past 180 days.
          6. In the Extended Properties section, you can set these properties.
              • To retrieve data in base 10 encoding as they appear in the UI, select Get Ids with base 10 encoding. This checkbox makes sure that your line item IDs, such as Media Buy Key and Campaign, are retrieved as they appear in the UI and not as they’re retrieved by default in Datorama.

              • To retrieve URL clicks and Billed Engagement measurements into the Ads data stream, type select Get Granular Engagement Data.

              • To add a conversions report that is mapped to the Conversions Tag data stream, type select Get Conversions Data.

              • To retrieve Ad Tweet level data, select Get Tweet Level Data. If you have a variety of campaign objective levels, consider creating two different data streams to avoid discrepancies: one data stream with the Get Tweet Level Data selected and the other data stream without it. Setting appropriate data load rules ensures that each data stream pulls the correct dataset. Conversion data isn’t retrieved when Tweet Level data is pulled.

              • To retrieve card data, select Get Cards Data. Cards data is retrieved with card dimensions, including ID, Name, URL, and Image.

              • To add more breakdowns, select Additional Segmentation. More breakdowns provide a higher level of granularity. You can select these segmentations.

                1. Country

                2. Device

              • To select a specific campaign that you want to pull data for, select an option from the Channel dropdown.

                1. On X — Pulls data from campaigns that are advertised on X on user timelines.

                2. On all Channels — Pulls data combined from the X and X Audience Platform Channels.

                3. On X Audience Platform — Pulls data for campaigns that have ‘Expand your reach on the X Audience Platform’ selected. Can be applied in website clicks and conversions, or mobile app promotion campaigns.

          7. To change the mapping, click Mapping. You can also access mapping by clicking Map to Model at the bottom of the Create New Stream page.
          8. To define advanced settings, at the bottom of the screen, click Advanced Settings.
          9. Click Create.
