          Set Up the Audience Insights for Advertising Studio App

          The Audience Insights for Advertising Studio app provides a single, cross-channel view of your Facebook and Twitter audiences. Setting up the app involves classifying your campaign strategies.

          Note Advertising Studio is now Marketing Cloud Advertising.

          To install the Audience Insights for Advertising Studio app, you need:

          • Marketing Cloud Advertising username and password with Admin permissions.
          • Facebook Ads or Twitter Ads username and password
          • Google Ads username and password (The Google Ads API doesn’t pull excluded audience data.)
          1. Install the Audience Insights for Advertising Studio app.
            1. In Marketing Cloud Intelligence, on the Marketplace tab, select Apps.
            2. Select the app and click Get it Now.
          2. Connect your Marketing Cloud Advertising data.
            1. If your Marketing Cloud Advertising user is already authenticated, select the username from the dropdown.
            2. If you must authenticate, click Add New Authentication. After you connect, all business units that exist for your user appear in the dropdown.
            3. Select the business unit you want to connect to.
            4. Click Next.
          3. Connect your advertising platform data. By default, all Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, and Google Ads data streams found in your workspace are selected.
            1. To remove a data stream, deselect its checkbox.
            2. To add a data stream, click Add New.
            3. Click Next.
          4. Classify your campaign strategies. By default, Marketing Cloud Intelligence creates strategies and classifies some of your campaigns accordingly.
            1. To change the classifications, add or remove strategies.
            2. Add classification rules to the strategies to accommodate your naming conventions.
            3. If you prefer to classify your campaigns offline according to your own naming conventions, upload a classification file by clicking Upload File.
            4. Click Next.
          5. Review the data model mapping. Marketing Cloud Intelligence automatically maps the external audience data from your advertising platforms to the Marketing Cloud Intelligence data model.
            1. To change the mapping, click Edit.
            2. Select the data stream type from the dropdown.
          6. Complete the installation.

          Installing the Audience Insights for Advertising Studio creates a number of underlying entities:

          • Data Streams - If you added data streams during the installation process, the app automatically creates these fields and definitions:
            • Marketing Cloud Advertising
            • Facebook Ads Four data model fields and one custom field. All fields are automatically mapped. Existing data stream definitions:
              • Under Extended Properties, the Get Conversions toggle is turned on.
              • Under Breakdown, Placement or Placement & Impressions Device is set.

              New data streams definitions:

              • Under Extended Properties - the Get Conversions toggle is turned on.
              • Under Breakdown, Placement is set.
          • Twitter Ads

            Four data model fields and one custom field. All fields are automatically mapped. For both existing and new data streams definitions:

            • Under Extended Properties - the Get Conversions and Get Tailored Audience Data toggles are turned on.
          • Patterns -These patterns are created:
            • Platform of Facebook and Twitter
            • Adwords Site Name for Platform
            • Platform According to Data Source Name
          • Harmonized dimensions - One harmonized dimension is created for all patterns.
          • Classification rules - These classification rules are created:
            • Social Campaign Strategies
            • Platform for 1st Party Audiences
            • Included Classification Rule
            • Excluded Classification Rule
            • All Audiences Classifications
          • Calculated dimensions - The calculated dimension Audience from Ad Studio Flag is created.
          • Calculated measurements - These calculated measurements are created:
            • Count Of Ad Studio Audiences in active Campaigns
            • Campaigns per Ad Studio Audiences
            • Count Of Ad Studio Audiences (All)
          • Report - A report is created that exports the relevant fields from Marketing Cloud Advertising. The report is updated each time the data stream is updated and shows the status of the audiences in Marketing Cloud Advertising.
