Calculated Measurements

A calculated measurement is a numerical custom calculation that you can create on top of your existing data. The calculated measurement doesn’t physically exist in the database. Rather, it represents a query that you can reference from any report, pivot table, or widget in your dashboard pages.

For example, you want to view your return on ad spend (ROAS) to better analyze your campaign performance. Instead of manually calculating the ROAS per campaign, create a calculated measurement to extract this information from your data and view it in your campaign’s goals or dashboards.

  Create a calculated measurement on top of existing data that you can refer to across your workspace.
• Create a Calculated Measurement from a Widget
  Create calculated measurements on top of existing data so you can refer to them across your workspace. Widgets can be used to display the calculated measurement data.
• Aggregation and Total Aggregation Functions
  An aggregation function computes numerical calculations on data, allowing the query to return summarized information about a given column or result set. You can use an aggregation function to calculate each row at the dimension level or the total value. In Marketing Cloud Intelligence, you define the aggregation function when creating a calculated measurement.
• Granularity in Calculated Measurements
  Granularity is the level of detail considered and then represented in an analysis or query. The greater the granularity, the deeper the level of detail. With more detail, you can better understand the smaller components of your data and create a fuller picture.
• System Calculated Measurement
  Marketing Cloud Intelligence calculates popular industry measurements that you can use as data in widgets, reports, and pivot tables. The measurements are calculated using fixed formulas using your workspace’s data. A measurement is available only if its formula’s components are mapped in an existing data stream. For example, if you uploaded a data source with MTC data, the MTC system calculated measurements appear. This table describes the available system calculated measurements and their formulas.
