Publish an Audience
Publish an audience in Audience Builder to use with messaging in Marketing Cloud Engagement.
- From the Audiences page, select or create an audience.
- After defining your audience and segments, click the Publish tab. When you publish an audience with no audience criteria or segments, you publish the total amount of your subscribers.

Complete these actions.
- Segments to be published - Select the segments to publish. Audience Builder suppresses unselected segments from the publish definition.

Save Location - To store your publish
definition, select a location. To create a folder,
click New Folder.
If you select Salesforce as your Audience channel filter, the channel locks on publish and only publishes to the Salesforce Data Extension folder. When using Emails Sends, you can only use audiences published in this folder. You can’t use a standard audience.
- Notification Settings - Enter the email addresses to notify regarding the status of the publish. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.
- Attributes to append - Select the attributes to append to your audience. This process allows you to use simple substitution strings to look up personalization values. If no set exists, click Create Set and build your set. Choose a dimension and select attributes to include in the set. You can choose up to 10 attributes. Created sets appear under Attributes to be appended. You can select a set to see its contact information.
- Click Save and Publish.
- To publish the new or modified audience, click Refresh and Publish.
