Create an Event
Follow these steps to create an event in Contact Builder.
- Click Data Designer.
- Click Events.
- Choose Create Event.
- Enter a name for the event in the Name field.
- Enter a value in the Event Key field. This value represents the Event Definition Key of the Journey Builder event.
- Enter information about the event in the Description field.
- Click Edit Icon.
- Click an icon that represents the event.
- Click Save.
- Choose the attribute group to associate the event data under the Event Destination heading.
- Click Create.
- To link the event to a new data extension, click Create New Data Extension and complete the creation steps.
- To link the event data extension to the Contact Record using the ContactKey, click ContactKey.
Once you create and link your data extension, the data extension appears in the Event group. The event data extension also appears in the attribute group associated during the creation process.
