          Create Content Blocks

          Use content blocks to create reusable modular content for messages. Manage content blocks in Content Builder.

          The create process leads you through creating content using the editor. The content created is used in your messages and managed in Content Builder.

          Note
          Note Don’t include personally identifiable information, such as email address, in email links.
          1. Click Create.
          2. Click Content Block.
          3. Click the content type to create.
          4. Add styles, including border, colors, and spacing, to the content.
          5. Enter or modify your HTML.
            1. To add proper indentation and spacing to your HTML, right-click in the code editor and select Apply Source Formatting.
          6. Save the content.
          7. Complete these fields.
            1. Enter an internal name that you and other users see in your folders.
            2. To choose a different folder location, click Change.
            3. Enter an internal description.
            4. To select business units and set sharing permissions, click Share.
            5. To choose a different content owner if necessary, click Change.
          8. Save the content block.

          • Use Einstein-Tested Content in Your Emails
            Test your content before you send it. You can test up to 32 images at a time.
          • Use Einstein Recommendations in Your Emails
            Add an Einstein Recommendations content block to your messages. At open, Einstein selects content from the content catalog that best engages each subscriber.
          • Add Image Content
            Add images to the Content Blocks that you create in Content Builder. Content Builder supports .jpg, .gif, .png, and .svg images.
          • Text + Image Content
            The Text + Image Block is unavailable in Content Builder.
          • Add Free Form Content
            To add text, links, images, and more, use the free form content block in Content Builder.
          • Add HTML Content
            HTML Content allows you to paste in HTML or upload HTML in Content Builder.
          • Dynamic Content
            Use Marketing Cloud Engagement Content Builder to create dynamic content to deliver a targeted message to an audience. Dynamic content lets you define attributes to content, making the information your subscribers receive more relevant.
          • Create A/B Test Content
            Create A/B test content in Content Builder. Use this block to create two different content areas and track which content performs better during an A/B Test. A/B Test works with Content Builder emails for testing content areas only. You can’t use the A/B Test block to test emails, From Name, Subject Line, Preheaders, and Time with Content Builder emails.

            Use Content Builder to add a linked button to your email.
          • Add a Social Follow Content Block
            Add a social follow content block to an email in Content Builder. Social Follow allows you to add links to your social networks in your email. Social Follow directs subscribers from your email to your social networks where they can then choose to follow your social accounts.
          • Add a Social Share Content Block
            Add a social share content block to your email in Content Builder. Social Share allows recipients to share the email on their preferred social network.
          • Add External Content

          • Add a Reference Block
            Use Content Builder to add a reference block to your content.

          • Live Image
            The Content Builder Live Image block lets you control message content at the time of open by switching relevant images in real time. You can send an email with image A that changes to image B based on a user-defined trigger.
          • Enhanced Dynamic Content
            Enhanced Dynamic Content lets you import into Content Builder a delimited file containing text and image URLs to create enhanced dynamic content for emails.
          • Interactive Email Form Block
            The Interactive Email Form block in Marketing Cloud Engagement Content Builder allows marketers to receive subscriber information like profile data, product reviews, and sales leads directly from embedded forms in an email. Allowing subscribers to submit forms without leaving their inbox increases customer engagement and gives marketers more data.
