Complete this next set of tasks in the installation and setup process after reviewing all prerequisites and installing the managed package.
Confirm with your account representative that your Engagement account is provisioned and enabled for use with Marketing Cloud Connect before connection.

Connect your Marketing Cloud Engagement account to the corresponding Sales or Service Cloud org at the account level to continue Marketing Cloud Connect setup. - Create a Marketing Cloud API User in Marketing Cloud Connect
Create a Marketing Cloud API user in Marketing Cloud Connect for Marketing Cloud Engagement. - Connect the Marketing Cloud API User in Marketing Cloud Connect
Connect the Marketing Cloud API user to the Salesforce system user to enable core system communication activities in Marketing Cloud Connect for Marketing Cloud Engagement. These activities include pushing tracking data from Engagement into your Sales or Service Cloud. - Assign Business Units
For Marketing Cloud Engagement Enterprise 2.0 accounts, assign applicable business units to the Marketing Cloud Engagement API user. The Marketing Cloud Connect API user’s business unit access in Engagement determines which business units are available for use within Sales or Service Cloud.
