Google Analytics Integration for Marketing Cloud Engagement
The Google Analytics integration for Marketing Cloud Engagement uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which offers free and paid versions. You can use either version with Marketing Cloud Engagement.
The free version of GA4 gives you access to sampled data reporting about your customer interactions. The Engagement integration adheres to Google’s analytics sampling rate. For more information, see Google Analytics Collection Limits and Quotas in the Google Analytics documentation.
Google’s paid version of GA4, called Google Analytics 360, provides access to unsampled data and audiences so that your marketing team has up-to-the-moment insight into customer behaviors.
Google discontinued the previous version of Google Analytics, called Universal Analytics (UA). If you previously used UA properties, you must re-create them in GA4 if you want to use them with Marketing Cloud Engagement. See Google Analytics Help: Make the switch to Google Analytics 4.
After you re-create the properties, modify your journeys to remove UA entry sources and replace them with data extension entry sources that reference your GA4 properties.
