          Google Analytics Tracking

          Google Analytics Tracking

To get web and mobile app metrics in the Journey Analytics dashboard, set up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking for app and web. You can analyze how mobile app conversions impact web behavior.

The GA4 property type can track your users’ online and mobile behavior.

In contrast to previous Google Analytics integrations, Marketing Cloud Engagement Setup now includes a Web URL Tracking and an App Event Tracking string.

Marketing Cloud Engagement customers who use Journey Builder can integrate it with GA4. When you set up app event and web event tracking, conversion events appear in the dashboard with other journey metrics.

          • Configure Google Analytics App Tracking
To track engagement with mobile URLs, set up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property tracking for your Marketing Cloud Engagement business unit.
          • Configure Google Analytics Web Tracking
To track the URLs used in Journey Builder emails and SMS activities in Marketing Cloud Engagement, set up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property tracking. Configure tracking parameters in Google Analytics first, and then enable them in Engagement Setup.
          • Deactivate a Tracking Parameter
To stop tracking a Google Analytics parameter in Marketing Cloud Engagement, deactivate the parameter in Setup. Deactivation is immediate, and future sends aren’t tracked.
