          Configure Google Analytics Tracking Parameters in Marketing Cloud Engagement

          Associate your subscribers with Google Analytics 4 audiences with UTM parameters. Marketing Cloud Engagement automatically applies these parameters to the links in your messages.

          For security purposes, recipients can’t see the sfmc_journey_name and the sfmc_activity_name values for journeys and activities in the URL. You can view the names in their original format in Google Analytics. To ensure that this functionality works as intended, you must use the Parameter Manager to set these values.

          1. In Setup, under Data Management, click Parameter Management.
          2. To view the parameters, expand a section.
          3. Next to the string that you want to change, click Edit.
          4. In GA4 Property Tracking, enable or disable the feature and save it.
            When enabled, Marketing Cloud Engagement adds the parameters to each message sent from this business unit.

            Note

            If you have UA Property Tracking enabled and disable it, you can't re-enable it. Use GA4 Property Tracking instead.
