Journey Builder Sales and Service Cloud Best Practices

Journey Builder Sales and Service Cloud Best Practices

Review these best practices to prevent a Sales or Service Cloud activity from negatively impacting your account. Adhering to these practices can reduce impact on other journeys in your enterprise and improve processing times.

          • Don’t use Journey Builder as a substitute for the Data Import Wizard or Data Loader for bulk updates.

            Note
Note A Sendable Data Extension is required when configuring a Journey Builder Entry event. The Sendable Relationship of the Data Extension dictates what value is used for “ContactKey”. Contacts are created in your All Contacts using the Sendable Relationship Field when injected into Journey Builder even if there are no messaging activities. Using a Sales or Service Cloud activity can create unwanted contacts in your Marketing Cloud Engagement account.
          • Limit the number of fields being updated on the selected objects.
          • Avoid high-volume updates to objects that have many related records, such as CampaignMember or Opportunity.
          • Journey processing in one business unit can negatively impact processing in another business unit. Distribute activity throughout your enterprise accordingly.
