Personalize Your WhatsApp Session Messages in Marketing Cloud Engagement
Use Content Builder to create session messages to respond to user-initiated conversations. When a user sends a message to your WhatsApp channel, you can respond without using a template. Session messages are free-form messages and don’t need approval.
- In Content Builder, click Create.
- In the dropdown, select Chat Messaging, and then select WhatsApp Session Message.
- Select the message type from the dropdown.

Complete the message body using personalization tags.
A session message can be up to 4,096 characters, including personalization and emoji. Facebook rejects messages that exceed these limits.
Note If you’re using an AMPscript string, define it within the personalization fields. -
To add media, upload a JPG, PNG, PDF, or MP4 file.
