          App Inbox Messaging

          App Inbox Messaging

Send a message that downloads to your app's inbox on recipients' mobile devices until you set it to expire. First, create the CloudPage and ask your mobile app developer to turn on the app inbox via MobilePush SDK. Then, create an Inbox 1.0 or Inbox 2.0 message.

          Inbox Message Options

          • Alert + Inbox sends a push alert to the device and a message to the app inbox that directs the consumer to a mobile-optimized page. Push alerts increase your MobilePush message consumption.
          • Inbox Only sends a message to the app inbox that directs the consumer to a mobile-optimized page.

          Key Facts

          • App inbox messages download to the device when the user opens the app.
          • The device owns the inbox message, not the contact. If someone uninstalls and reinstalls the app, the messages aren't restored.
          • To open the call to action as a CloudPage, web link, or app link, ask your app developer to implement a URL handler in your app.
          • Devices with SDK versions 9.0 and later don't fetch app inbox messages that they've already received.
          • If an app inbox message includes AMPscript in any field, including custom key-value pairs, a device with SDK version 9.0 or later processes the AMPscript when it first receives the message. If the AMPscript value changes, the device doesn't process the update because it doesn’t fetch already received messages. As a result, the device continues to show the older values.
          • Create and Send an Inbox 1.0 Message
Use Inbox 1.0 messages in MobilePush to send a persistent message along with a CloudPage. This method creates a standard inbox message that includes a title and a CloudPage link.
          • Create and Send an Inbox 2.0 Message
Use the Inbox 2.0 messages in MobilePush to deliver a persistent message with or without a CloudPage. This method creates an inbox message that includes a title, subtitle, message, and optional calls to action (CTA).
