          Geofence Messaging

          Geofence Messaging

Contacts can receive a message when their mobile device enters or exits the geofence. A geofence location is a circular boundary that surrounds a geographical point. Contacts can receive a message when their mobile device enters or exits the geofence. In MobilePush, specify the geofence location by address or by dragging a pin onto the map. Also specify the size of the geofence, which is the radius of the circular boundary.

You can use geofence messaging to message users arriving at an event or traveling to a new city.

          Note
Note Use geofence locations with Location Entry and Location Exit message templates.
          • Create a Geofence Location
Create a geofence location in MobilePush.
          • Delete a Geofence Location
Delete a geofence location in MobilePush. You can only delete a geofence location that is associated with an inactive message or with no messages. If the geofence location is associated with an active or scheduled message, make the message inactive before deleting the geofence location. If the geofence location is associated with a draft message, associate the message with a different location or remove the association before deleting the geofence location.
          • Create a Location Entry Message
Use the Location Entry Message template to send a push message to mobile devices that enter a specific geographic location. MobilePush limits outbound messages to 2048 bytes, including sounds and features.
          • Create a Location Exit Message
Use the Location Exit Message template to send a push message to mobile devices that leave a specific geographic location. Outbound messages that you send using MobilePush are limited to 2,048 bytes, including sounds and features.
