          Import Contacts into MobilePush

          Import Contacts into MobilePush

In MobilePush, import contacts into a standard list or into All Contacts using these instructions.

Contacts imported into MobilePush are imported into the Contacts app. Destinations include all contacts, an existing standard list, or a new standard list created during import. Import contacts into all contacts if you don’t want to associate the contacts with a specific standard list. Filtered lists can access the information in all contacts, according to the filters you choose for the filtered list.

Some customers choose to import contacts for their initial launch. The list you import includes contacts that you want to have in MobilePush to eventually send messages to. It’s important to note that contacts are duplicated into new contacts after they register in the app and the SDK registers that device.

          Note
Note Import to a sendable data extension for use with MobilePush. Your file must be in comma-delimited format (CSV), 20 MB or less, and contain at least these required fields:
          • Contact Key
          • Platform
          • System Token
          • Device ID: An automatically generated random GUID created by the SDK to represent an instance of the app's installation on the device.
          1. In Overview, click Add Contacts.
          2. Select the destination for the imported contacts.
          3. Select the file to upload.
          4. Before uploading, certify whether you have opt-in permission from contacts in the file.
          5. Click Next.
          6. Select the application to associate with the contacts.
          7. Click Next.
          8. Map the column headings in the file to the supported MobilePush columns:
            • To match the columns by name, select Map by Header Rows.
            • To match the columns by order in the file, select Map by Ordinal.
            • To match the columns manually, select Map Manually.
          9. Click Next.
          10. Review the import mapping. Make sure that the column headings match the data in the columns. Click Back to change.
          11. Enter your email address for notification when the import completes.
          12. Click Finish.
