Encryption Configuration Options

Ensure that the data you bring into Marketing Cloud Engagement is encrypted by using a supported method of data ingestion.

When you enable Field-Level Encryption in Marketing Cloud Engagement, use one of these methods to ingest data:

• Encrypt your data manually and import it. Extracted or exported data remains in the same encrypted format used before the import process.
• Import plain text data into Marketing Cloud Engagement. Your data is encrypted as part of the import process. Marketing Cloud Engagement then decrypts any extracted or exported data. You can export data using the data extension export process. Data is decrypted and exported to an FTP location.
