Configure MFA Verification for Marketing Cloud Engagement Logins

Configure a multi-factor authentication (MFA) method to provide an additional layer of security for your Marketing Cloud Engagement account. MFA is required for all users and can’t be turned off. The first time you log in to your account, you must register an MFA verification method. On all subsequent logins, you must log in using MFA.

Tip Consider registering more than one MFA method. That way, if you lose access to one method, you can use a different method.

1. Log in to your Marketing Cloud Engagement account.
2. At the MFA prompt, click Get Started. Marketing Cloud Engagement sends a verification code to the email address associated with your account.
3. Paste the code from the email into the field, and then click Verify.
4. To register Salesforce Authenticator, complete these steps.
   1. On your mobile device, download and install Salesforce Authenticator from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
   2. Select Salesforce Authenticator from the list of verification methods.
   3. Open Salesforce Authenticator, then tap Add an Account. The app displays a two-word phrase.
   4. On the Connect Salesforce Authenticator screen, enter the phrase in the Two-Word Phrase field, then click Connect.
   5. In Salesforce Authenticator, verify that the request details are correct, then tap Connect.
   6. In Salesforce Authenticator, tap Approve to log in.
5. To register a hardware authentication key, complete these steps.
   1. Select Security Key from the list of verification methods.
   2. Connect the security key to the computer, then click Register.
   3. When prompted by the browser, press the button on the security key.
   4. Enter a name for your security key.
   5. Click Save.
6. To register a third-party authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator™¹, follow these directions.
   1. On your mobile device, download and install a time-based one-time password (TOTP) authenticator app.
   2. Select One-Time Password Generator from the list of verification methods.
   3. Open the TOTP authenticator app, and follow the instructions for adding a TOTP.
   4. Use the authenticator app to scan the QR barcode that’s displayed on the Connect an Authenticator App screen.
   5. On the Connect an Authenticator App screen, enter the temporary code generated by the authenticator app in the Verification Code field, and then click Connect to log in.
