Set Up a Microsoft Azure Blob Storage File Location in Marketing Cloud Engagement
Transferring files directly from Microsoft Azure is faster than transferring files from the Enhanced FTP server that’s built in to Marketing Cloud Engagement. You can grant Marketing Cloud Engagement access to your cloud storage through Microsoft Azure Directory or Shared Access Signatures.
To complete this task, you must have administrative permissions to view and manage file locations.
- In Marketing Cloud Engagement Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter file, and then select File Locations.
- Click Create.
-
Complete the information in the Properties section.
- For Name, enter a unique name that’s recognizable when creating an activity in Marketing Cloud Engagement.
- For External Key, enter a unique key that identifies the file location when using the API.
- For Description, enter details that help further identify the file location when creating an activity in Marketing Cloud Engagement.
- For the location type, select Azure Blob Storage.
-
Complete the location information.
- For Authorization Type, select the authorization method used to grant Marketing Cloud Engagement delegated access to the storage location.
- For Storage Account Name, enter the name of your Azure Blob Storage account.
- For Container Name, enter the name of the container that you want to target in your Azure Blob Storage account.
- For Relative Path, enter the relative location or folder path inside the container. Don’t use a leading or trailing forward slash ("/") in your path.
- For Tenant ID, enter the Azure Tenant ID. This step is only necessary if you use Active Directory authorization.
- For Client ID, enter the Azure Client ID. This step is only necessary if you use Active Directory authorization.
- For Client Secret, enter the Azure Client Secret. This step is only necessary if you use Active Directory authorization.
- For SAS Query String, enter the Blob SAS token. This step is only necessary if you use Shared Access Token authorization.
- Save the file location.
- In Azure, grant the appropriate permissions. To import data from Azure, grant both List and Read permissions. To export data to Azure, grant either Write or Create permissions.
