Marketing Cloud Engagement Users
An admin can manage users in Setup for Marketing Cloud Engagement.
Users Screen
Use this information about user security to help protect the assets in your account and prevent unauthorized access.
- Create one user per person, API process, and third-party system that you integrate with.
- Don’t allow users to share usernames and passwords because it increases the likelihood of a compromised account.
- Give each user the lowest level of access needed to accomplish their tasks in the application.
You can’t delete users, but you can disable them. Disabling a user retains the user’s security record and data. Previously created sends and automations continue to run as scheduled.
Your Salesforce contract specifies the number of users you can add to your account. Disabled users and users created as part of an AppExchange app don’t count against this number. Users created manually and configured as API users do count toward the total number of enabled users.
As an administrator, you can:
- Add users
- Modify user permissions
- Disable users
- Reset passwords
When you add a user or reset a user’s password, the system provides a new temporary password for the user, which you need to communicate to the user. When the user logs in with that password, they’re prompted to create a password.
Upon first login, users must provide an security question and answer. If a user forgets the password, the user can click a link on the login screen and follow prompts to reset the password..
