          Create a Google Analytics GA4 Data Stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines

          Create a Google Analytics GA4 data stream to track and view reports on website traffic.

          Required Editions

          To create an API data stream: Admin

          To create a Google Analytics GA4 API data stream requires a valid username and password with access to at least one Google Analytics profile.

          1. On the Import tab, click Add New.
          2. Select the Google Analytics connector.
          3. Select the Google Analytics connector.
          4. In the General section, click Add New and enter your credentials.
          5. Next to Website select the GA4 Property that you want to retrieve data for. This API only pulls in data at the website or App level by default.
          6. Set more properties by using Extended Properties:
            1. Location Breakdown: Select this breakdown to add the Country dimension.
            2. To pull page-level data, from the Get Page Levels dropdown, select the level. For example, if you select two levels, the first two sections of the page path are extracted to two columns in your report. Selecting all levels causes longer query times.
            3. Get Events Data: Select to add the Web Analytics Events data stream type. These fields are added.
              1. Event Name
              2. Total Events
              3. Events Value
            4. Get Device CategorySelect to add the Web Analytics data stream type. These fields are added.
              1. Device Browser
              2. Device Category
            5. Get Pages: Select to add the Web Analytics Pages data stream type. These fields are added.
              1. Web Analytics Page Hostname
              2. Web Analytics Page Path
              3. Web Analytics Page Path Level 1
              4. Web Analytics Page Path Level 2
            6. Get Keywords: Select to add the Web Analytics Data Stream Type. These fields are added.
              1. Web Analytics Keyword
              2. Key Web Analytics Keyword
            7. Get Campaigns: Select to add the Web Analytics Data Stream Type. This field is added.

            8. Map as delivery entities: This checkbox is available when Get Keywords or Get Campaigns are selected. This selection enables data to be connected to your workspace’s delivery data. If selected, these fields are added to the Web Analytics Data Stream Type.

            9. Get nonsampled data: Select to retrieve nonsampled data from Google Analytics. This capability applies only to GA360.
            10. Traffic Source Dimension: Use this dropdown to determine the scope in which the traffic-source dimensions are pulled into the data set. You can select Session-scoped dimensions or User-scoped dimensions. For example, if you select Session-scoped, the web analytics source field is populated with Session Source. If you select User-scoped the web analytics source field is populated with First User. Use the Map to Model screen to check the display name and ensure your selection is correct.
          7. To view or change the mapping, click Mapping. Or you can access mapping by selecting Map to Model at the bottom of the Create New Stream page.
          8. To define advanced settings, at the bottom of the screen, select Advanced Settings.
          9. Save your work.
          10. Quality check your data:
            1. Create a report in the Google Ads platform for the required date.
            2. Process the relevant data stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence filtered to the same date range.
            3. Create an identical report or pivot table in Marketing Cloud Intelligence with the same date range, dimensions, and measurements.
            4. Compare the measurement totals to make sure that they’re aligned.
