Moat API Connector
A digital advertisement search engine. Measures ad viewability on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Channel: Display
- Data Stream Type: Ads Verification
- Data Lagging: 2 Days
Prerequisites
You must make sure that your MOAT API credentials match the type of report you want to retrieve. Contact your Account Manager to see that you have the appropriate credentials.
Details
- To authenticate, enter a Token and Brand ID.
- If you don’t have a Token, contact your MOAT representative and request one.
- If you don’t know your Brand Id, log into https://api.moat.com/pubdocs and search for your brand here.
General Setup
After you’ve logged in with your credentials, you can now select the Brand ID for which you’re pulling data.
Extended Properties
- Get Placement Level Data - This checkbox is selected by default, and retrieves a Placement Level report in addition to the data retrieved by the API by default. This added report is mapped to the Ads Verification Data Stream Type.
- Get Creative Level Data - When this checkbox is selected, Creative Level data is retrieved in addition to the data retrieved by the API by default. This added report will be mapped to the Ads Verification Data Stream Type.
- Get Domain Level Data - When this checkbox is selected, Domain ID and Domain Name will be retrieved in addition to the data retrieved by the API by default. This added report is mapped to the Ads Verification Data Stream Type.
Known Issues
- The following MOAT Entities are automatically mapped to the following Fields within
Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines:
- level1 - Campaign
- level2 - Site
- level3 - Placement (when Get Placement Level Data is checked)
- level4 - Creative (when Get Creative Level Data is checked)
- slicer1 - unmapped (when Get Domain Level Data is checked)
- Due to limitations on the provider's side, the naming of MOAT fields isn’t consistent. Therefore, if you believe there’s a discrepancy in your data, check the MOAT API documentation here (note that an API-access set of credentials is required to access this link) and check the significance of the relevant MOAT field to verify that it has been mapped correctly in Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines. If you find a field that has been incorrectly mapped, simply unmap it and remap it to the correct Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines field within the MOAT Data Stream.
How to QA Your Data
- Create the desired report in the Moat UI for the required date range.
- Next, process the relevant Data Stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines for the same date range.
- Create a Report/Pivot Table within Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines containing the exact same Dimensions and Measurements for the same report and date range.
- Compare the Measurement Totals and make sure they’re aligned.
