• YouTube username and password
• Similar to YouTube Insights, the user should be a channel owner.

Details

• To validate your data compare it to the relevant view in the YouTube Analytics platform. When in the YouTube analytics platform, to the left, under the 'Analytics' section, there are three tabs:
  • Traffic Sources
  • Demographics
  • Devices
• In the Devices tab, there are 2 views: 'Devices' 'Operating Systems'
  • 'Devices'
  • 'Operating Systems'
• Select the view that fits the report you’re validating.
• The Watch Time measurement is aggregated and displayed in minutes format.

How to set up YouTube Reports

1. Choose the desired report from the list:
   • Traffic Sources - Includes viewing statistics based on the manner in which viewers reached your video content.
   • Device and Operating System - Includes viewing statistics based on viewers' operating systems and device types.
   • Viewer Demographics (Age + Gender) - Includes viewing statistics based on viewers' age group and gender.
   • Playback Locations - Provides statistics related to the type of page or application where video playbacks occurred.
   • User Activity - Provides user activity statistics related to a channel and its videos.
   • User Activity By Province - Provides user activity statistics for U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
   • Traffic Sources By Video - Includes viewing statistics based on the manner in which viewers reached your video content per video.
   • Viewer Demographics By Video - Includes viewing statistics based on viewers' age group and gender per video.
   • Device Type And Operating System By Video - Includes viewing statistics based on viewers' operating systems and device types per video.
   • Playback Locations By Video - Provides statistics related to the type of page or application where video playbacks occurred per video.
2. Select the Report Context - Video or Playlist. The report context determines the scope of the data. For instance, 'Playlist' will return data relevant to views made in the context of a playlist.
3. Select the Data Stream Type - The Traffic Sources report can be mapped using the Social Element Traffic Sources Data Stream Type. The Viewer Demographics and Device and OS reports include many to many entities, it’s advised that you map them using the Generic Data Stream Type.
