- Get Started with MDP
With Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines, you can integrate all your data from marketing and advertising platforms, web analytics, CRM, e-commerce, and more. You can then use this unified view of your data to optimize campaign performance and discover and act on insights in real time. - The MDP Data Model
Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines (MDP) pulls data from a variety of sources with different data types. Each one of these different data types has its own unique combination of dimensions and measurements. The dimensions are made up of entities that have a certain relationship, or hierarchy, between them. It’s important to maintain this relationship in the Salesforce MDP database, otherwise the data can get aggregated incorrectly. - MDP Uploading Data
One of the most crucial steps when working with Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines, is uploading data. Since MDP supports numerous types of data, you can choose from many different ways to upload it. During the upload stage, you can map your data to determine which fields appear in MDP and you can even create custom calculated fields to get the most out of your data. All these actions are done in the Import tab. - MDP Harmonize Your Data
Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines offers multiple tools for harmonizing your data. Because you can upload data from various sources, you need a way to merge the data and provide a complete view of your marketing activity. In most cases, no single data source holds all relevant data on a marketing event or campaign. The data is shared by the multiple platforms that digital marketers use to do things like promoting the campaign on multiple channels. To analyze the full picture, harmonize data from all sources into one. If data isn’t harmonized, you must analyze each source individually—making it a challenge to gain insights quickly and efficiently. - MDP Dimensions
In Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines, a dimension is a qualitative non-numerical attribute that provides information about your dataset, for example, campaign name and campaign ID. A dimension can’t be counted, even when it includes a number. For instance, a campaign ID consists of numbers but you can’t calculate them. - MDP Measurements
In Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines, measurements are quantitative numerical data that you can count, for example, number of clicks and emails opened. Measurements are used to set KPIs and analyze your data. - Manage Your Data with MDP
Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines offers multiple tools for managing your data. In the Manage tab, you can create workflows and actions to manage your data, and remove data that you no longer need. - Explore Your Data with MDP
Explore your data and ensure it is accurate before exporting it for further analysis and consumption. - Export Your Data with MDP
Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines offers multiple tools for exporting your data to consume it in your tool of choice. You can export your data into a database, report, or Tableau.
