          Connect Referral Marketing with a Marketing Cloud Engagement Business Unit

          Create a send classification and a package in your Marketing Cloud Engagement business unit to connect Referral Marketing with the business unit. Then, use the send classification and package details to connect Referral Marketing and the business unit in the Referral Marketing org.

          To connect Referral Marketing with a Marketing Cloud Engagement org:

          View Setup and Configuration

          AND

          Customize Application

          Note
          Note Marketing Cloud was rebranded to Marketing Cloud Engagement. Some features and labels in the apps continue to refer to the old name.

          Before you set up the connection between Referral Marketing and an Engagement business unit, copy this information from the package that you created in the business unit for the connection:

          • Authentication Base URI
          • Client Id
          • Client Secret

          Also, keep the name of the send classification that you created in the business unit for referral emails handy.

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Referral Marketing, and then select Marketing Cloud Integration.
          2. Turn on Referral Marketing’s Integration with Marketing Cloud.
          3. Click Add Connection.
          4. In the Marketing Cloud Business Unit Details section, enter the details of the business unit.
            The Business Unit Marketing Cloud Member ID (MID) is used to identify the business unit that you want to connect to.
          5. In the Business Unit Package Details section, enter the Authentication Base URI, client ID, and client secret of the package that you created in the Engagement business unit.
          6. From Connect Marketing Cloud Org With, select Referral Marketing.
          7. In the Communication Details section, enter the name of the send classification for referral promotion messages. The sender profile of the send classification that you select is used to send referral promotion messages.
          8. To add more communication channels, click Add Channel.
          9. Select a channel type, and enter the channel ID and channel alias.
          10. Save your changes.

          After you save the connection, these settings are automatically created in the org:

          Marketing Cloud Authorization Permission Set

          Provides the permissions that you require to create journeys in the connected Engagement business units for activated promotions.

          The permission set is automatically assigned to the user who adds the connection.

          MarketingCloudRemoteAuthentication Remote Site Setting Stores the Authentication Base URI of the package. The URI is used to make API calls to the connected Engagement business units.

          After you connect Referral Marketing with an Engagement business unit, click Dropdown, and then click Test Connection to check whether the connection is working.
