SMS Code Provisioning Guidelines
Use an Ireland alphanumeric code for one-way sends that handle both marketing and transactional sends. Alphanumeric codes can't be generic and must be associated with the brand, enterprise, product, or service. These codes can only use alphanumeric characters and spaces. Make sure these codes have a minimum of 3 characters and a maximum of 11 characters. You can also use local long codes for two-way sending for marketing and transactional sends.
To register alphanumeric codes, follow the instructions in the SMS Sender ID Registry Guide. During the registration process, assign Salesforce as the Third Party and authorize Sinch Sweden AB (reference ERAU10000802) as the Originator Participating Aggregator (OPA). After your sender IDs are approved, register them with Salesforce. Provide the list of approved sender IDs and the Sender ID Registry Account ID for your business in the format AC: SIDR-xxxxx to your account executive.
Restricted Content
You’re responsible for complying with local rules and regulations. To ensure compliance, familiarize yourself with the legislation of the local market. Failure to comply can result in service suspension, cancellation, and potential fines. Ireland generally forbids content related, but not limited to, adult and gambling products and services.
Best Practices and Compliance References
Consider using different alphanumeric codes for marketing and transactional messaging. Telecommunications in Ireland are regulated by Commission for Communications Regulation.
