Get Started with Anonymize for Salesforce
The Anonymize application enables you to create anonymization templates for sandboxes. These templates disguise sensitive information by allowing you to select objects and fields for anonymization. A range of replacement options are available, tailored to the field type, for anonymizing the field data.
Overview
For each anonymization template that you create, you configure them by choosing the objects and their fields that you want to anonymize. Based on field type, a variety of replacement options for anonymizing the field data are available to select.
Ways to Anonymize Data
In a Salesforce data environment, the application provides you with two ways to anonymize data:
- Standalone anonymize job - anonymize the data of a specific sandbox using a selected anonymization template
- Anonymize as part of a seeding job - as part of the execution of a seeding job, you can first anonymize the data of the service that is defined as the Template Source in the seeding template, using a selected anonymization template. This gives you the ability to anonymize the seeding source's data - personally identifiable information (PII), sensitive information, classified information - before that data is copied to (seeded in) the destination. The Salesforce data source can be any of the following: a Production Org, or a sandbox
