          Export to Azure Blob Storage

          Export to Azure Blob Storage

Export archived data in the Archive managed package to Azure Blob Storage and include it in your external reports. Azure Blob Storage, part of Microsoft's cloud platform, is designed to handle large volumes of unstructured data, such as text files and binary data. This export capability supports Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 for enterprise-level big data analytics.

          Note
Note This content relates to Archive. For Salesforce Archive, see Store Data Externally with Salesforce Archive.

Set up an Azure Blob Storage container in your Azure environment. The Azure Blob Storage account must match the type of storage linked to your Archive account, such as Azure Blob for Azure environments. Export to Azure supports all attachments.

          Important Considerations

          • A one-time full export using the Export All Objects option is recommended for up to 100,000 records. For datasets exceeding this amount, we advise using incremental exports. Incremental exports can be configured using the Schedule Automatic Exports feature after an initial export.
          • We do not assume responsibility for data security, privacy, or protection once the data is exported from Archive to external storage. You are solely responsible for managing your Azure Blob's security, such as policies, permissions, and so on.
          • You can only export to storage that matches your account with Own Archive. For example, if you're running on Azure, you can export to an Azure Blob Storage. Exporting to Azure Blob Storage includes all attachments.

To export data to Azure Blob Storage:

          1. Access the Export
In the Archive app in your Salesforce environment, navigate to the top-right corner of the Home page and click the Export button.
          2. Select Azure Blob Storage
In the Export Data window, from the Export to dropdown, select Azure Blob Storage.
          3. Enter Azure Blob Storage Details
            Complete these fields.
            • Azure Blob Storage Account Name
            • Container Name
            • Path

              Example path: mycontainer/myblob

            • Secret Key

Enter the secret key associated with your Azure Blob account.

              Example secret key: cMnGBfdln5fgkKsZLkmfzBSTq3RyWRXXGFvFUGjsk2ZwfNei4Fh3XoIIGMfZ75itJ+LXMT e9nnl8do+BZ/KJaA==

          4. Choose Export Settings
            • Export All Objects: This option exports all available objects to the Azure Blob.
            • Export Selected Objects Only: Select specific objects to export. The initial export includes all selected objects; subsequent exports only contain incremental data.
          5. Schedule Automatic Exports (Recommended)
If you want to export new data on a regular basis (incremental export), check the Automatically export new data checkbox. This is particularly recommended for datasets larger than 100,000 records after an initial export.
          6. Save & Export
After configuring the export, click Save & Export. The system generates a snapshot of the archived data at the time of export. Data archived after the process begins isn't included.
