How Starting a Workflow Works
Start a workflow from a published or draft blueprint, or create one from scratch without a blueprint at all. When you start a workflow from a blueprint that has intake fields, those fields appear on a page for you to fill in before the workflow begins.
After you create a workflow, it starts running immediately. Agentforce Operations activates the first stage and its tasks, and assignees receive email notifications with information needed to complete their tasks. The workflow progresses through its stages automatically as tasks complete.
Ways to Start a Workflow
Agentforce Operations provides several ways to start workflows depending on how many you need to create and where the trigger originates.
Start a single workflow manually from a published or draft blueprint. Select the blueprint, fill in any required intake fields, and the workflow begins. To learn more, see Create and Start a Workflow from a Blueprint in Agentforce Operations.
Build a one-time workflow directly without a blueprint. Use this approach for ad-hoc processes that you don't plan to repeat or reuse. To learn more, see Create a Workflow from Scratch in Agentforce Operations.
Upload a CSV file to start up to 2,498 workflows at once. Each row in the file creates a separate workflow with its own field values. Use bulk start for high-volume, repetitive processes like onboarding batches of suppliers or sending quarterly reviews. To learn more, see Start Multiple Workflows from a CSV File in Agentforce Operations.
Configure a blueprint so stakeholders can start workflows by sending an email, without signing in to Agentforce Operations. Use email-triggered workflows for intake processes where requesters aren't workspace users. To learn more, see Turn On Starting a Workflow from an Email.
