What Happens to Tasks When a Workflow Runs in Agentforce Supply Chain

Understand how tasks work when the workflow is running in Agentforce Supply Chain.

          Required Editions

          License Required

This feature is a workspace that’s external to your Salesforce org and requires an Agentforce Supply Chain license.

To purchase an Agentforce Supply Chain license, contact your Salesforce account executive.

When a workflow starts, tasks don't all become active at the same time. Each task activates based on its start condition. Either when its stage begins or when a prior task is completed. Here's what happens at each stage.

          When a Task Becomes Active

          • The assignee receives an email notification with the task details and a link to complete it.
          • The task shows in the assignee's tasks list on the Tasks page in Agentforce Supply Chain.
          • The task's due date countdown begins.
          • If an AI agent is the assignee, it starts working on the task automatically.

While a Task Is in Progress

          • Assignees can complete the task in the workspace or from the task email.
          • Cc'd users can view and comment on the task but they can't complete it.
          • If the task has an escalation, Agentforce Supply Chain notifies the additional people as the due date approaches or passes.

          When a Task Is Completed

          • The task is marked complete and locked from further editing.
          • Any information collected in the task's requested fields is available to share with downstream tasks.
          • The next task in the workflow gets triggered automatically.

When a Task Becomes Overdue or Has a Problem

          • If a task becomes overdue, the associated workflow's status changes to Overdue in the workflows list view on the Home page.
          • If a task has a problem, you must resolve the problem before the workflow can proceed. The associated workflow's status changes to Problem in the workflows list view on the Home page.
