Getting Started with Record-Triggered Flows Record-triggered flows automatically run when someone creates, updates, or deletes a record in Salesforce. After they’re triggered, they perform actions such as updating records, creating records, and sending emails. There are two types of record-triggered flows. Learn how they differ so you can use the one that works best for your situation.
Decide Between Before-Save and After-Save Record-Triggered Flows Record-triggered flows run when someone creates, updates, or deletes a record in Salesforce. Before-save flows run before Salesforce saves the record. After-save flows run after Salesforce saves the record. Use this guide to pick the right type for your automation.
How Entry Conditions Work in Record-Triggered Flows Entry conditions control when record-triggered flows run. Use AND, OR, custom logic, or formula-based conditions in the Start element to run your flow only when the right records change.
Working with the Triggering Record in Record-Triggered Flows When a record triggers your flow to run, Salesforce automatically stores that record's information in the triggering record variable. This variable gives your flow instant access to all the field values from the record that triggered the flow. You can read the field values, check them, and change them.
