Back Up Your Data with Backup & Recover for Salesforce
Safeguard your critical business information by adding a backup service to your account. Each service you add can back up Salesforce production data, production metadata, sandbox data, or sandbox metadata. Backups then run automatically, securing your data so it can be recovered.
Before you start, make sure that you're logged out of your Salesforce org.
- On the Backup tab, click New Service and select Salesforce.
-
Select a service type:
- Production Data
- Production Metadata
- Sandbox Data
- Sandbox Metadata
If you have Continuous Data Protection, select the service type:
- Production Data
- Sandbox Data
- Turn on Continuous Data Protection.
-
In the Objects field, enter the Salesforce API names of objects you want to back up. API
names are case-sensitive. For example:
- Account
- Contact
- CustomObject_c
- If you use a custom domain in Salesforce, click Use Custom Domain and enter your custom domain.
-
Click Add Service. You're prompted to authenticate with Salesforce,
authorizing Own to access your org using OAuth. Authenticate an admin user that has the “Modify
All Data” permission and at least Read Access to all standard and custom fields to make sure
that the backups complete properly.
Daily backups run automatically. You'll get an email after the first backup completes successfully.
