Automated Flow Testing Limits and Limitations

Automated Flow Testing Limits and Limitations

Understand the limits and limitations of automatically evaluated flow test scenarios, whether you test through Flow Builder's Test Mode or with a Data Cloud-triggered flow.

Required Editions

View supported editions.

Limits

The maximum number of tests per flow is 200.

Limitations

  • Flow tests are available for record-triggered, autolaunched, and Data Cloud-triggered flows.
  • Isolated test data is available for record-triggered and autolaunched flows.
  • Automated flow test scenarios for autolaunched flows don't support Wait elements. Use mock outputs to test action elements and subflow elements, which simulate a live run.
  • In Test Mode, Scenario Testing Automation is disabled for a record-triggered flow that triggers on record deletion. Those flows support only manually evaluated test scenarios.
  • Automated flow test scenarios don't support flow paths that run asynchronously.
  • Automated flow test scenarios count toward flow test coverage requirements. Manual test scenarios don’t.
  • Apex tests aren’t included in flow test coverage calculation.
  • Test Mode: Apex-defined variables aren't supported for autolaunched flow input values.
  • Formulas aren't supported for setting test data. Use fixed values. For example, to verify that a date field equals the relative date Today, enter a fixed value. If you create and run the test scenario on August 3, 2022, the date field's value is set to August 3, 2022. If you run the same test scenario on a later day, the value remains August 3, 2022.
