          Considerations for Group Service Appointments

          Considerations for Group Service Appointments

Here are some things to keep in mind when you schedule a group service appointment.

          • You can create group service appointments only with shifts.
          • When a service resource adds a lead record as an attendee, Salesforce Scheduler sends a confirmation email that they’re enrolled to the group appointment.
          • When a service resource or an Experience site user adds a contact or a person account record as an attendee, they’re enrolled to the group appointment. The enrolled contact or person account can access their group appointment in the My Appointments console.
          • When scheduling the group service appointment, if the service resource selects the Added Users and Experience Site Users group appointment access type, the Experience site users who aren’t added to the group service appointment can access and enroll to the group appointment from the Upcoming Events tab of their Experience site.
          • If you’ve specified an attendee limit in both the work type associated with the shift and the shift work topic record, Salesforce Scheduler considers the attendee limit of the shift work topic record for the group appointment.
          • One Group Appointment can include a maximum of 50 attendees.
          • If you’re scheduling a multi-resource group appointment and the attendee limits for primary and secondary resources are different, Salesforce Scheduler considers the attendee limit for the primary resource.
          • For overlapping and adjacent shifts, Salesforce Scheduler considers the least attendee limit.
          • Unauthenticated (guest) users can’t create a group appointment.
          • For group appointments, you must select a group category for the corresponding shifts.
          • To set a work type to support group appointments, associate the appropriate appointment category to it. By default, the appointment category of any work type is null which is for regular appointments.
          • Associate the shift record with the appropriate appointment category. For example, on shift records, only Regular and/or Group are allowed. Appointment Category with Drop In enabled aren't allowed.
          • For customer portal users to manage group appointments in the My Appointments console, grant the Service Appointment Attendees entity access and field-level security (FLS) on the Status field.
          • If required, create a partner site with Partner Central.
