Salesforce Scheduler provides standard flow templates to let your internal users
(employees) quickly schedule appointments with customers. Users can easily search for and select
the right person, topic, location, and date and time of the appointment. You can either use the
provided standard flow templates or create flows based on those templates and customize them to
suit your business needs.

Salesforce Scheduler provides these standard flow templates for internal users.
Flow
Purpose
Outbound New Appointment
Walks an employee through scheduling an appointment with a customer.
Outbound Modify Appointment
Walks an employee through modifying a scheduled appointment.
To give users access to the standard Outbound New Appointment flow, add the provided Schedule
Appointment action to lead, account, person account, case, and opportunity page layouts. To give
users access to the standard Outbound Modify Appointment flow, add the provided Modify Service
Appointment action to the service appointment page layout. To give users access to your
customized versions of the two outbound flows, create custom actions and add them to the page
layouts for relevant objects.
Alternatively, you can embed a flow into a record page. Users can schedule or modify
appointments without launching the flow in a separate window over the record page, which blocks
their access to details on the page.
Set Up the Outbound New Appointment Flow To give your users access to the provided Outbound New Appointment flow, add the Schedule Appointment action to lead, account, person account, and opportunity page layouts.
Set Up the Outbound Modify Appointment Flow To give your users access to the Outbound Modify Appointment flow, add the Modify Service Appointment action to the service appointment page layout.
Set Up a Custom Outbound Flow (Optional) To give your users access to a customized version of the Outbound New Appointment flow or Outbound Modify Appointment standard flow template, create an action and add it to the relevant page layout.
Embed Outbound Flows Into Record Pages (Optional) When you embed a flow into a record page, users can schedule or modify appointments directly from the page. They don’t have to use the quick action, which launches the flow in a separate window and blocks users’ access to details on the page.
