            Show Appointments as Events on Salesforce or External Calendars

            When you enable the Event Management setting, Salesforce Scheduler writes service resources’ appointments as events on their Salesforce calendar. To write events from Salesforce calendar to external calendars, use a calendar sync tool such as Einstein Activity Capture. If a calendar sync tool doesn’t work for you, enable the Publish Appointments as Platform Events setting to trigger platform events when appointments are created, modified, or deleted in Salesforce Scheduler. Then, subscribe to the new AppointmentSchedulingEvent platform event and use an API to write the platform events to an external calendar.

            • Considerations to Write Appointments to Salesforce Calendar
              Here are some things to keep in mind before you enable the Event Management setting to write Salesforce Scheduler appointments to Salesforce calendar.
            • Write Salesforce Scheduler Appointments to Salesforce Calendar
              Use the Event Management setting to write appointments to Salesforce calendar. Service resources see their scheduled appointments as events on their Salesforce calendar. When you add the Service Appointment field to the Event page layout, the event details page shows a link to the corresponding service appointment in Salesforce Scheduler. Service resources can use the link to open the service appointment directly from the event on their Salesforce calendar. The Assigned Resources related list on the service appointment page also shows a link back to the event on the Salesforce calendar.
            • Write Salesforce Scheduler Appointments to External Calendars
              Enable the Publish Appointments as Platform Events setting, subscribe to the AppointmentSchedulingEvent platform event, and then use APIs to write appointments to external calendars.
            • Connect Your Salesforce Calendar with External Calendars
              Use Einstein Activity Capture app to connect Salesforce calendar with an external calendar, such as Microsoft® Outlook® or Google Calendar™. If you use Einstein Activity Capture, tell your users which calendar to use to edit events based on the sync direction you set.
