Licenses for Salesforce Scheduler
Users who book customer appointments, users who take customer appointments, and assets require different licenses.
Required Editions
Salesforce Scheduler is available for an extra cost in Lightning Experience. Asset Scheduling is available for an extra cost in Lightning Experience. |
| Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions |
Users who book customer appointments, such as relationship managers and customer care representatives, and service resources who attend customer appointments, such as financial advisors and wealth managers, must have one of these user licenses.
- Sales Cloud
- Service Cloud
- Industry Cloud, such as Automotive Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud, or Public Sector Cloud
- Digital Experiences (formerly Communities):
- Customer Community Plus
Before allocating the Customer Community Plus license, confirm that the out-of-the-box object permissions for the user profiles associated with the license meet your requirements. For example, service resources with the Customer Community Plus license can’t access leads and opportunities. So when a guest user books an appointment with a service resource who has the Customer Community Plus license, the service resource can’t access the lead details associated with the guest user. See Experience Cloud User Licenses.
- Partner Community
- Channel Account
- Customer Community Plus
Service resources additionally need the Platform Starter license. The license provides limited capabilities.
See Cost-Effective Alternative for Creating Service Resources.
Your users can also book assets, such as meeting rooms and equipment, by using Salesforce Scheduler. Asset scheduling is a usage-based entitlement. The number of assets that can be enabled for scheduling depends on the limit for your organization.
- Cost-Effective Alternative for Creating Service Resources
Salesforce Scheduler is an add-on based product. It requires a base license, such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Lightning CRM, or Platform Starter, to operate. If you’re looking for a cost-effective alternative to these base licenses, try the Platform Starter license, a license with limited capabilities. Assign the Lightning Platform Starter license and the Salesforce Scheduler add-on to users, such as sales associates and healthcare providers, who don’t schedule their own appointments. Users, such as customer service representatives, community users, or guest users, can create service appointments for these service resources. - Supported Licenses for Authenticated External Users
To configure inbound scheduling in your Experience Cloud site or on your website, your authenticated external users must have one of these communities licenses. Communities licenses are used with Experience Cloud sites and legacy portals. Browser support for Experience Cloud sites varies by the device on which you access the site or the template. - View Maximum Schedulable Assets in Salesforce Scheduler
Each active asset type resource is included in the schedulable asset limit for your organization. You can view your asset limits and usage counts in the Usage based entitlements report.
