Update the Callback URL in the Connected App

Update the Callback URL in the Connected App

Update the value of the callback URL in the connected app to use the value from the authentication provider.

          Required Editions

Available in: all editions except Starter
          User Permissions Needed
To modify connected apps: Customize Application AND either Modify All Data OR Manage Connected Apps

To complete this task, you need the value of the callback URL in the authentication provider created in the Create an Authentication Provider for the Tooling API task.

          Important
Important Connected apps creation is restricted as of Spring ‘26. You can continue to use existing connected apps during and after Spring ‘26. However, we recommend using external client apps instead. If you must continue creating connected apps, contact Salesforce Support.

See New connected apps can no longer be created in Spring ‘26 for more details.

When you created the connected app in the Create a Connected App for the Tooling API task, the value of the callback URL was a placeholder. To use the correct value, you update it in this step.

          1. In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Apps, and then select App Manager.
          2. In the entry for the connected app that you created, select View from the dropdown on the far right.
          3. Click Edit.
          4. To create an authentication provider, update the callback URL to use the value from the previous task.
          5. Save your changes.
