Save your company time and ensure data consistency and reliability when you seed data
into a sandbox or production org for development, testing, and deployment. Seeding by Own from
Salesforce enhances data security and compliance by maintaining object relationships during
seeding.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and
Developer Editions with the Salesforce Data Mask or Data Mask & Seed add-on
licenses
Create and configure seeding templates that reliably and continuously populate sandboxes and
production orgs with necessary data. Give your team the data to reproduce customer use cases
and production scenarios without privacy concerns. Transfer data easily between environments
by using a seeding source with the latest data from a production org or from a specific
sandbox.
To customize the data that you want seeded into a destination, choose to either only add
records, update and add records, or delete and add records. The filter option in the seeding
process lets you control the number, order, and type of records seeded for a selected template
object. Adjust the amount of data seeded to fit your project's needs and preview a sample of
the records to verify filter accuracy.
