          Get Started with Shield Extension

Shield Extension provides comprehensive tools to analyze Salesforce field encryption options, review data retention policies, and explore field history for enhanced data security.

          • Shield Extension enables a Salesforce Administrator to:
            • Select encryption wish list fields and run an analysis against them, allowing you to see if they comply with or go against the Salesforce rules for encryption at the platform level.
            • Review and compare the platform encryption analysis results against each field’s data classification level. This helps determine the next steps for each of the fields.
            • Schedule analysis and snapshots on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
            • Estimate field usage to drive security tech debt prioritization decisions.
            • Encrypt fields using Salesforce Shield Platform Encryption directly from within the Platform Encryption Analyzer tab.
            • View and update your Salesforce org’s history retention policies within Salesforce Shield Field Audit Trail.
            • View and update field history tracking in a centralized place against each field’s data classification level.
            • View history changes on tracked fields at the record level in several ways, including Over Time, By Field, or By User.
            • Export views and results to a CSV file for review outside of Shield Extension, or to retain the data for future reporting needs.
          • Shield Extension supports the use of keyboard navigation for all of its features.
          • The process for upgrading Shield Extension is identical to installing Shield Extension.
