moving some information around, but we aren’t deleting anything.
To set up Einstein Activity Capture, complete all of these steps in order. Make sure you review all considerations before you get started.
- Setup Considerations for Einstein Activity Capture
Before you begin the setup process, review the limitations, supported environments, and all the considerations. - Give Users Access to Einstein Activity Capture
Assign each user an Einstein Activity Capture license and a permission set. Missing either one can cause connection and access issues. - Connect Email and Calendar Accounts to Einstein Activity Capture
Before Einstein Activity Capture can access users’ email and calendar data, you must connect Salesforce to your email account. The choices of how to connect and authenticate users depend on which email and calendar application you use. - Define Which Data to Capture Through an Einstein Activity Capture Configuration
Configurations determine which data gets captured and how it flows between Salesforce and your connected account. You create one configuration during the initial setup and you can add more to customize data capture and sync behavior for specific users or profiles. By default, Einstein Activity Capture syncs events and contacts bi-directionally, though you can edit these settings at any time. - Exclude Certain Emails and Events from Syncing to Salesforce
When you add email addresses or domains to the Excluded Addresses list for your org, emails and events with those people or companies aren’t added to the activity timeline of related Salesforce records. Events aren’t added to the Salesforce calendar or synced between Salesforce and the connected account. Your Excluded Addresses list applies to all Einstein Activity Capture users. Users can add more email addresses to their own Excluded Addresses lists. By default, your company's internal email domain is automatically excluded. - How Activity Sharing for Einstein Activity Capture Works
Use activity sharing rules to manage how users see and share captured event data. If Sync Email as Salesforce Activity is turned on, activity sharing rules also control the visibility of captured email data. If captured email isn’t synced as activity data, use Einstein Activity Capture settings to manage data sharing. - Enable More Features for Einstein Activity Capture and Inbox
Einstein Email Insights and Recommended Connections make it easy for sales reps to move deals in the right direction. - Test, Monitor, or Reset Configurations
