Microsoft Office 365
Application-level, Role-based access control (RBAC) level, or user-level connection methods are available for companies working with Microsoft Office 365. Before you connect Microsoft Office 365 to Salesforce, work with your Azure admin to enable Microsoft Graph.
Microsoft is retiring Exchange Web Services (EWS) for Microsoft Office 365 in October 2026. Microsoft Graph API replaces EWS. Starting Spring ’26, Einstein Activity Capture configured to use Microsoft Office 365 is automatically authenticated by using Microsoft Graph. If you set up Einstein Activity Capture to use Microsoft Office 365 before Spring ’26, upgrade to Microsoft Graph by August 2026 to avoid service disruption.
Einstein Activity Capture only supports Office 365 tenants hosted on Microsoft Azure global infrastructure clouds. Azure national and government clouds aren’t supported.
Microsoft Exchange 2019, 2016, or 2013
User-level or service account connection methods are available for companies working from Microsoft Exchange 2019, 2016, or 2013.
Before you connect Exchange to Salesforce, work with your Exchange admin to enable Exchange Web Services (EWS) on an SSL connection and allow the necessary network access. Make sure that your server supports Basic Authentication requests.
