Note We’re reorganizing the Einstein Activity Capture documentation. We’re
moving some information around, but we aren’t deleting anything.
Depending on how your Salesforce admin setup Einstein Activity Capture, your Microsoft or
Google account might already be connected. You can still customize some Einstein Activity
Capture settings and learn how to get the most out of your data.
Tip If your admin enabled Inbox, you also have access to some or all Inbox
features.
Connect Your Email and Calendar to Salesforce with Einstein Activity Capture or Inbox Depending on how your Salesforce admin configures Einstein Activity Capture, it’s possible that you’re responsible for connecting or reconnecting your Microsoft or Gmail account to Salesforce. If you use Lightning Email and have access to Inbox features, you must connect an account to Salesforce.
Email Data Capture Configuration for Sync Email as Salesforce Activity When Sync Email as Salesforce Activity is enabled in Einstein Activity Capture, you can control the amount of email data captured: entire email message or header only. The header-only capture option gives you more privacy by letting you capture only the sender, recipients, and date and time the email was sent.
Exclude Emails and Events from Being Added to Salesforce When you add email addresses to your Excluded Addresses list, emails and events with those people aren’t added to the activity timeline of related Salesforce records. Events aren’t added to the Salesforce calendar. And events aren’t synced between Salesforce and the connected accounts.
Control How Your Captured Emails Are Shared Choose how to share email data that Einstein Activity Capture adds to the activity timeline of related Salesforce records. Share with all users, Chatter groups, or no one.
Set Up a Group for Sharing Activities The group’s owner or manager can enable email and event sharing for private and unlisted Chatter groups. Then, Einstein Activity Capture users within the group can share their emails and events with all group members.
