Exchange Web Services (EWS)
To access emails, events, and contacts from Exchange, Salesforce makes these calls via Exchange Web Services (EWS).

| CreateFolder | Creates a folder in Exchange |
| CreateItem | Creates a contact or event in Exchange. The Salesforce record ID is added to the Exchange item properties. |
| DeleteItem | Deletes contacts or events based on the Salesforce record ID |
| FindFolder | Finds a folder in Exchange |
| FindItem | Finds a contact or event based on the given search parameters |
| GetEvents | Accesses information about Exchange events |
| GetFolder | Accesses a folder from Exchange |
| GetItem | Accesses information about a contact or event in Exchange |
| GetServerTimeZones | Returns information from time zone definitions that are available on the Exchange server |
| SyncFolderItems | Returns all changed contacts and events with requested fields |
| UpdateItem | Modifies one or more contact or events with new field data |
Note Microsoft is retiring EWS for Microsoft Office 365 in October 2026. We
recommend upgrading the Microsoft Office 365 authentication from EWS to Microsoft Graph.
