          Plan Your Recommendation

Before you start building a recommendation, consider what you want to recommend and who or what you want to recommend it to. Then, determine how to translate these elements to Salesforce objects and their relationships.

          Note
Note Your Recommended Items and Recipient objects can be a standard or custom object in your Salesforce org.

Before you build a recommendation, determine the following:

          • Your Recommended Items represents what you want to recommend. For example, a bank product.
          • Your Recipient represents what receives the recommendation. For example, the person you’re recommending the bank product to.
          • Your Interactions represents the past history of desired outcomes between the Recommended Items object and the Recipient object.
          • Also get familiar with segments, and positive and negative examples.
