Create Prompts
Provide helpful content to users where they’re working. Introduce users to new features, draw attention to specific details in their environment, and provide nudges or reminders.

Create Prompts in Lightning Experience
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter In-App Guidance, and then select In-App Guidance.

Click Add.
In-App Guidance Builder opens in a new browser tab.

From the Environment dropdown, select where you want to create the prompt.
- For Lightning Experience, select Your Org (Lightning Experience).
- For an Experience Cloud site, select Site Name (Experience Cloud Site).

In the environment you selected, go to the app or page where you want to add the
prompt, and then click Add.
If the current page doesn’t support prompts, the Add button isn’t available.The New In-App Guidance panel opens in In-App Guidance Builder.
- In the New In-App Guidance panel, select Single Prompt, and then click Next.

Select the prompt type, location, and position, and then click
Next.
- For a targeted prompt, click Targeting Mode and select the element or field you want to associate with the prompt.
- For a prompt in Lightning Experience, select a custom theme color.

Enter the prompt title and body text, add optional images, and add other related content.
- For a floating or targeted prompt, enter a label for the Dismiss button.
- For a docked prompt, enter text for the extra header and optionally embed a video.
- Save your changes.
- In the In-App Guidance Settings window, specify other options for the prompt. Add an optional Action button, schedule when the prompt is visible, restrict access to specific profiles or permissions, and copy the prompt’s URL. On the Details step, enter a name and API name, and then save your changes.
- In In-App Guidance Builder, click Done.
