          Customization Options for Events and Calendars

          Get a brief overview of all options for customizing how sales reps manage their meetings and scheduling. Options differ for Lightning Experience, Salesforce Classic, and the Salesforce mobile app.

          Allow multiday events. Let users create events that end more than one day (24 hours) after they start. From Setup, enter Activity Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Multiday Events. Supported Supported Supported
          Allow recurring events or event series. Let users create events that repeat at a specified interval. In Salesforce Classic, those events are called recurring events. In Lightning Experience and the Salesforce mobile app, they’re called event series. See the Event Series section in Productivity Features: What's Different or Not Available in Lightning Experience

          In Salesforce Classic, from Setup, enter Activity Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Creation of Recurring Events. If you disable this setting, users can still edit the interval of an existing event series, but they can’t create a new series.

          In Lightning Experience, from the Fields section in the page layout editor, drag Repeat into the desired area of your event.

          Enable enhanced calendar features.
          • Display up to 500 events in calendar views.
          • Display events with overlapping event tiles.
          • Let users click an event to preview, and click again to open the event record page.
          • Let users drag to reschedule events in 15 minute increments.
          • Let users navigate to the day view by clicking a date in the month or week view.
          • Let users move within the calendar using the browser's Back and Forward buttons.
          From Setup, enter Activity Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Use Lightning Web Components for Calendar Home. Supported    
          Allow hover links on Home tab calendar. Display event details when a user hovers the mouse over an event. From Setup, enter User Interface in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Home Page Hover Links for Events.   Supported  
          Allow drag-and-drop calendar editing. Let users drag to reschedule events on the day or week view of their own calendars. From Setup, enter User Interface in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Drag-and-Drop Editing on Calendar Views. Supported Supported  
          Allow dragging to schedule events. In Salesforce Classic, on contact and lead list views, let users schedule events by dragging a contact or lead onto the calendar. You can customize the mini page layout for the overlay where users enter event details. In Salesforce Classic, from Setup, enter User Interface in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Drag-and-Drop Scheduling on List Views.           Let users create events by clicking in the calendar. Let users create an event by clicking a time slot in the calendar. From Setup, enter User Interface in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Click-and-Create Events on Calendar Views.   Supported  
          Enable sidebar calendar shortcut. Display a link (Calendar icon) to a user’s last-used calendar view in the sidebar above Recent Items. From Setup, enter User Interface in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Sidebar Calendar Shortcut.   Supported  
          Enable hover link for My Tasks list. Show task details in a popup on the Home tab when a user hovers the mouse over a task. From Setup, enter User Interface in the Quick Find box, then select Enable Hover Links for My Tasks list.   Supported  
          Compare multiple user calendars.

          Compare user calendars for one day using availability view in Lightning Experience. Add multiple calendars simultaneously with user lists. In Salesforce Classic, multi-user view organizes users by rows and can save multiple custom views.

          From Setup, enter Activity Settings in the Quick Find box, then select:

          Customize user list calendars Create, edit, and control who can see user list calendars. Before adding user lists to calendar views, review existing list views. Edit users' visibility and create filters to remove default users from user lists calendars. See View and Manager Users Supported    
          Create public calendars and resource calendars. Create calendars for managing group activities, such as marketing events, product releases, training classes, and team vacations, or shared resources, such as a conference room.           Add or remove event attendees. Let users add or remove attendees from events in Lightning Experience and the Salesforce mobile app. In Salesforce Classic, invitees are always available on the events layout. Users can invite contacts, leads, and other Salesforce users to events in all interfaces.

          From the object management settings for event, go to Page Layout or Compact Layout and add the Attendees field.

          Send invitations to event attendees. Let event attendees receive invitations when users invite them to events from Lightning Experience and the Salesforce mobile app. In Salesforce Classic, invitations are sent to event invitees automatically. To send invitations to attendees that users invite from Lightning Experience and the Salesforce mobile app, Einstein Activity Capture or Lightning Sync and a supported Microsoft Exchange or Google account are required.           Set event reminders. Let users set event reminders in Lightning Experience or the Salesforce mobile app. Users see reminders in Lightning Experience only. See Set Up Event Reminders in Lightning Experience. Supported
