- You can automatically assign the lead using the active lead assignment rule. To do so,
select Assign using active assignment rule (Salesforce Classic
only).
If the active assignment rule assigns the lead to a queue, you must be a member of the queue or have View All Records permission for leads. If you don't assign the lead using an assignment rule, the lead belongs to you. If you automatically assign the new lead, the record type of the lead can change, depending on the behavior your admin specified for assignment rules.
- If you’re using the Apply Lead Assignment Rules invocable action on a record-triggered flow for a lead, and the flow is set to run immediately, select Assign using active assignment rules when creating or editing a lead (Salesforce Classic only).
- If your sales team uses divisions (Salesforce Classic only), the division of a new lead is automatically set to your default division, unless you manually select a different one.
- Your admin determines the default lead status for new leads.
- When you create a lead in Lightning Experience, the lead is:
- Marked Read and doesn’t appear in the My Unread Leads list view. In Salesforce Classic, if you click Save & New, the lead is marked Unread.
- Automatically updated, causing flows and Apex triggers that are configured to run when a lead is updated to fire.
- You can create a lead from the Potential Connections section of the Email Message home page.
