You’re ready to create segments now that the data has been ingested and mapped to a
unified profile. Marketers define segments depending on the potential customers they want to
target, such as people potentially interested in a product or service. Your data segments are
specific to your business. For example, a segment can be people who have downloaded your white
paper or visited your website more than once.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available with Sales Engagement, which is included with Sales in
Performance, Unlimited Editions, Agentforce 1 Edition, and
available for an extra cost in Professional and Enterprise Editions.
Sales Engagement is also available for an extra cost in Service and Lightning
Platform.
Important Prospecting Center is scheduled for retirement in all Salesforce orgs as
of April, 2026. For existing customers, Prospecting Center remains available till April
2027.
Note Sales reps can choose which segment to view from the Marketing Segment menu. After they
select a segment, they see only the accounts that include contacts from the selected segments,
along with the total number of contacts in that segment per account. The total number of accounts
owned by the user in the segment also appears at the top of the app.
