          • Consumption Forecasting Limitations
Learn about the limitations of Consumption Forecasting before setting it up for your users.
          • Consumption Forecasting Best Practices
Review key guidelines to get the most out of your consumption-based forecasts.
          • Give Users Access to Consumption Forecasting
Give your users access to the Consumption Forecasting feature by assigning a permission set license and permission set to them. With this license, users can view and interact with consumption-based forecast types.
          • Configure Data 360 for Consumption Forecasting
To set up Consumption Forecasting, enable and configure Data 360 so you can leverage the data effectively. Enable Data 360 in the same Salesforce org.
          • Enable Data Governance Permissions for Consumption Forecasting Objects
To use Data 360 Data Governance features for Consumption Forecasting, you need to grant access to the impacted objects according to an access policy.
          • Assign the Forecast Manager Role
The forecasts hierarchy determines how forecasts roll up within your Salesforce org and who can view and adjust them. The forecast hierarchy is based on the user role hierarchy.
          • Deploy the Forecasting Data Kit
To configure a consumption forecast type, import the standard objects required for forecasting from your Salesforce org to Data 360. Deploying the Forecasting data kit creates the data lake and data model objects for those standard objects.
          • Create DLOs for Your Standard Objects
If you can't deploy the Forecasting data kit, you can manually configure data streams and DMO mappings for the standard objects.
          • Create DMOs for Consumption-Based Data
The consumption-based data includes details of real usage and estimates of future usage of each product or service that you want to forecast.
          • Set Relationships Among DMOs
Set the relationships among the DMOs. These relationships help you determine forecast rollups in the Choose Forecasting Dimensions section while creating a consumption forecast type.
          • Create a Consumption-Based Forecast Type
You configure a consumption-based forecast type by selecting the data source for your forecast, setting up forecast rollups, choosing columns to display, and selecting the date type for forecast calculations. After you complete the setup, the forecast type appears as a tab on the forecasts page, where your teams can view and forecast revenues.
